Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some cool business ideas that you can start as a musician without the need of major funding or anything that requires more than the can do spirit of the musician.

Let’s talk about it.

Business 101

So I am speaking about businesses within the United States.

I’m not sure how different countries do it.

But within the United States, you can actually start a business relatively easily.

Actually, the instant you do a transaction for your business, you have already started a business.

And that’s called a Sole Proprietorship.

It just means that you own the company yourself and you own all of the liability to whatever can happen in your business.

This Sole proprietorship is not ideal in most cases, but it is ideal for the starting business owner.

It is ideal for the starting musician who wants to start earning money through music.

Now, I am not a business consultant, but I would recommend just talking to a few people first before deciding which direction you want to take your business.

So start your business as a sole proprietorship and then escalate from there.

Now let’s talk about some cool business ideas that musicians can do.

Producer business

So in this instance, I am talking about a producer in the way that hip-hop producers mean producer.

A producer that makes the beats for their clients.

Believe it or not, I have heard of big success stories from dudes who sell their beats on the internet.

It’s not easy and definitely needs time and consideration to being able to sell their beats on the internet.

And definitely a lot of practice making beats.

So what you could do is you could make beats for people and sell it on the internet.

You could use different ways to sell your beats on the internet.

One of them is through Beatstars.

Beatstars is a good way to set up your online store and get started selling beats on the internet.

They take care of all the legal work and you could focus on making beats and promoting your work.

Content creation agency

Believe it or not, I have ran into 2 different business who have their own social media manager.

And what these social media managers do is that they create content for these businesses and then release it on their social platforms.

This way the company can grow and develop a following.

So content creation agencies is just basically making content for people.

I know that it’s not directly tied to music, but it does heavily go with something that you’re going to be doing a lot of which is content creation.

As a musician, you’re going to have to do plenty of content creation and if you turn it into a business, you might have a new source of income for your music projects.

Mixing business

Being a mixing engineer is a highly paid gig on it’s own.

I remember that I say down with a professional mixing engineer. And he was actually a beginner mixing engineer.

And he said that he starts charges at 200 to 300 dollars per song.

And honestly, I was astounded by that to be honest with you.

I didn’t know that a beginner mixing engineer would start like that.

So what you could do is start your mixing engineer business like close to your house and just promote it to musicians near your area.

Or if you want to mix for musicians all across the country or globe, just start a blog related to mixing and making music and start the process of getting clients.
