Blogging Vs YouTube, which one is better for the musician?

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all my beliefs in blogging or vlogging. 

Let’s talk about it. 

Blogging Vs Vlogging

Blogging is what I started out with. 

And it wasn’t because I couldn’t make videos. 

I could actually make videos and I have done so in the past with companies and they were successful. 

But that’s not the reason why I choose to blog. 

For one, a video can be extremely time consuming to make.

I mean first you have to come up with an idea for a video, then you have to write out the script, and then you have to record and get all of your props in place, and then you have to worry about equipment (Your camera, software and computer that you’re going to be doing all the editing.) and believe it or not, 

Even if you’re doing simple videos about a subject, you actually need to learn how to present yourself to the camera. 

It’s actually different than just talking to someone. 

You have to give off an energy that can be new to people. 

I remember my first video was just a disaster. 

But I learned how to present myself in front of a camera and things worked out well. 

And it’s actually a few skills that you need to learn as a video producer. 

I’m not saying that I can’t do it, I actually have done it in the past, 

But it takes so much time to learn to do it. 

Whereas writing, it’s a few skills that are more manageable to do. 

You have to learn how to research your topics that you’re going to talk about and you have to learn how to write. 

And what happens is that you can actually come out with more content on a more consistent basis if you were to write in a blog, which is really good for your SEO and your fan base. 

A video is great and would be ideal if you could do every day. 

But I chose blogging because you could get more content out easily. 

In a perfect world

In a perfect world, you would do both blogging and vlogging. 

But of course, more often times than not, we can’t do that. 

So if you ever get to the point where your blog is making money, and a lot of money too, then I would suggest you try and make videos for your followers as well. 

That’s what I’m going to do. 

This way you have a financial support to back you up on your endeavors.
