Is it still possible to start and succeed at a music blog in 2025?

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to talk about something that I’m pretty sure a lot of you guys are wondering to yourself, “Is a music blog a feasible and possible thing to do in today’s economy?” 

Let’s get into it. 

Short answer YES, long answer…

The thing is that no matter what age you are or where you are in life, you can always start something that you think is good. 

I remember back when it was 2021, I was actually debating myself of whether I should have even started a blog or not. 

And I eventually decided to actually do it, but the thing is that at the time, I was reading a lot of music posts and seeing a lot of videos telling me that a music blog was actually not the way to go. 

And actually it was saying that videos and SoundCloud were the way to promote your music at the time. 

And what happened is that there are a few publications that are actually very reputable in the music industry. 

One of them is CDBaby’s blog. 

If you don’t know what CDBaby is, it’s an online distributor of music. 

Like what you have to do is pay a fee to put your music on major retailers such as Apple Music, Spotify, and Google play. 

You should check them out for any needs you have. 

And what happened is that I read their blog post where it said that music blogging is still very important for the musician. And honestly, the other articles that I was reading, honestly didn’t have weight to it because they were a bunch of lesser known bloggers trying to get fame. 

But CDBaby, I mean anyone who has been in the music game worth their salt has heard of CDBaby. 

So I listened to CD baby. 

And now nearly Four years later, I’m reaping the rewards of listening to CD baby. 

Bandzoogle, which is another reputable Musician blog also recommended that musicians blog. 

So I mean like two really big music blogs just told me that it’s important to blog. 

I really can’t deny that. 

So I personally believe that at any age and at any point in life, you can actually do great things in life. 

It’s just a matter of hard work and dedication. 

So like right now, I know you’re probably saying to yourself, “But German it’s 2025 and I think that music blogging is dead. I can’t possibly make it as a musician through blogging.”

Well I’m trying to say that in 2021, I was thinking the same.
