Nothing is impossible with God.
Let’s talk about this.
Are you doubting your power? Or the power of God?
So you know for a fact that God can do anything with anyone right?
There is even a bible verse where Jesus is talking and he looks at some stones and say, “For God has the power to turn these stones into the children of Abraham.”
How much power is that? That God can turn stones into the children of Abraham?
It’s enough power, it’s more than enough power to make a rapper into the best Christian rapper that there ever was.
I think right now one of the 100 best selling musicians worldwide is a Christian rapper and his name is TobyMac.
I know what you’re thinking, “But German, I don’t really follow TobyMac like that, I don’t think that he believes the same things that I believe in.”
Well that might be true, but he’s still a rapper selling albums using God.
If you don’t think that TobyMac is saying things that are good, then why don’t you go out there and make music that glorifies God as well.
And better yet, go out there and make holy Christian rap.
Do you know what Rap stands for?
It stands for Rhythm and Poetry.
If that’s the case, then the first rapper that there ever was, was King David.
Because if you really understands what rap is, it’s poetry being sung or said over an instrumental.
And that’s exactly what David did with his harp.
He would recite poems over his harp glorifying the Lord.
So yes, it is very much possible to make rap a Godly thing.
Do you know how holy David was? The Bible itself, scripture itself, compares David to Jesus.
The Bible says many times in prophecies that, the redeemer would be someone, “Like David.”
So yes, it is very much possible to make rap a holy thing.
How to not make rap a holy thing
So now that you know that you can make rap a holy thing.
Let’s talk about what are some things that you shouldn’t do as a rapper.
- Don’t make it about yourself, instead make it about God
- Don’t make it carnal, I see a lot of musicians out there who make Christian music all about the music and not about God. If you’re going to make a guitar solo, it’s fine, but don’t let it be all that the song is about.
- Don’t try and follow the norm, follow what God has called you to do in life.
If you follow these steps, you will always win in music.
