Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all how it’s going in my music production journey.

Let’s get started.

It’s going great

So what happened is that I recently was looking up ways of how you can practice producing music.

And I came across this YouTube video that said, “The best way that you can get better at producing music is by recreating your favorite songs.”

And I actually like that because if I’m honest, the best way that I create my hits that I like and make today, is literally just by infusing my own creativity to already tried and true methods.

And recently, I have been recreating a whole bunch of songs from scratch on FL studio and I see that a whole bunch of other people are the same exact way.

I see that no matter the genre whether that’s pop, or rap, or country or rock, they all have similar patterns that we all need to take into consideration.

My producing practice.

Right now, I’m not going to lie to you, I am currently producing songs that are not Chrisrtian.

However, they are not against Christianity either.

Let me explain.

They don’t talk about vain or demonic things, but they don’t talk about God either.

So the songs that I’m recreating aren’t cursing and are within reasonable talk in Christianity.

But even still some of that doesn’t sit well with me.

I mean like, why would I be trying to reproduce songs that talk about heart break and loss when I should be recreating songs that talk about victory and happiness.

I don’t know that’s just my way of putting it.

So right now, I am recreating a song, it’s actually Apologize by One Republic.

But I think it will be the last non Christian song that I reproduce.

I really want to focus on creating Christian and Godly music so I don’t want to put my efforts on anything else.

The thing with my producing practice is that most of the Christian songs that I listen to are actually rock songs.

And that means that I have to play the guitar for the songs.

Which isn’t a bad thing, I play guitar, it’s just that, that means that I have to learn how to play the guitar parts to those songs which means a few hours of playing the guitar and recording the guitar parts.

It’s not hard, It’s just tedious.

I want to produce Christian rock too.

So to be honest with you, it’s what I need.

Rock Vs Pop and Hip-hop

With Pop and Hip-hop, I feel like I can get away with just using the midi controls on my DAW, but with Rock, I feel more inclined to actually grab my guitar and get to town playing guitar parts.

I love all of it, but I don’t know, I guess Rock is preferred for me because I play guitar and sing.
