Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to go over what is true worship, Let’s get started.

What is true worship?

So when we think of worship, what comes to mind?

We think of singing praises to God don’t we?

We think of bowing down ourselves to something right?

Well even though those things are a form of worship, it doesn’t capture worship in it’s entirety.

Worship in it’s entirety is surrendering ourselves to the Lord.

Now what does that word surrender mean?

It means that we give up what we are and we allow God to do whatever he so pleases.

And there are many reasons as to why we need to worship God.

For one, God controls the earth and the skies and not only that, but God controls every aspect of our lives.

I remember I one time had a friend and I will admit that this friend was very Christian.

And what happened was that he said that he doesn’t watch Harry Potter or anything with witches and wizards because witches and wizards will often make things seem like they have an easy solution.

And he said that that’s not biblical.

He said to me that the only one who has the power to make things difficult or easy is God.

He literally gave me the example in Harry Potter where Hagrid makes a pig tail come out of Dudley.

He said that God is the only one who has the power to control curses not man.

And honestly that inspired me.

And it inspired me to really put in perspective of just how powerless I am in this world and how powerful God is.

And it also gave me insight in worship.

What is it that we’re trying to worship?

Are we worshipping an easy solution to our problems? Are we worshipping something demonic?

When we see those witches and wizards on T.V. why do we find them so intriguing and why can’t God be the solution instead?

Story time

I one time knew a woman and what happened was that her and her husband were struggling financially.

And what happened was that the wife wanted to donate to her church because she wanted to be faithful to God.

And so she went and she donated 10% of all she earned that paycheck.

And when it came time to pay rent, she needed to put in the exact amount that she had tithed.

And she said, “Lord, I leave these bills to you.”

On that day, someone random came into the bank and put in 600 dollars into her bank account.

And she owed 500 dollars.

And actually in the mail, there came the deposit slip and the name that was on it was blank.

That’s not witchcraft or wizardry, that is an answered prayer.

That was the solution that we were looking for.

And you know what? God was the one who took the glory in that story.

Imagine if the world was actually filled with witches and wizards that could actually fly on brooms and cast spells, then everyone would always go to them for the solution and not God.

And then the worship would go to someone else.

God however, wants all the worship.

And better yet, God deserves all the worship.

We humans are incapable of receiving worship because we are just not worthy enough to receive anything like that.

So what is true worship?

True worship is when you give up everything that you are and you give it to God.

Every aspect of your life, whether that be your body, or your music, or your blog, whatever that may be, you give it up to God and you let him use it for his holiness.

I know this may sound a little too much, but God is so perfect that he makes the whole process enjoyable.

He is perfect and holy and just.
