Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to shae with you all how to develop a good sense of rhythm for your music.

Let’s get into it.

Do you have rhythm?!?!?!

So what happens is that when you first start out in music, you basically have no rhythm.

And don’t be alarmed or dismayed at the fact that you don’t have any rhythm because in all reality rhythm is something that needs to be taught.

Rhythm is usually not something that is natural in all reality.

In all reality, rhythm needs to be practiced and mastered over a long period of time.

But how do you develop a good sense of rhythm?

Just play a whole bunch of songs

So if you ever just play a whole bunch of songs, you will actually develop your own sense of rhythm in your instrument or voice.

It’s one thing to develop a sense of rhythm for your voice or chords because they might be a little different, but all in all the principles are the same.

There is a practice that I can’t remember if I ever did it, but I’m pretty sure that I did something similar to it, where you take a 16th note pattern and you try and omit certain notes while playing the rest of them.

So say for example in a 16th note pattern, the notes would go in order 1-e-and-a.

So what you should do is try and play that same pattern without the e and then go back and play that same pattern without the a or the and.

You can even go and do it without the 1.

This will get you to develop a really good syncopated pattern in your rhythmic playing.

In guitar playing specifically, it will also get your hand used to going up and down on the guitar.

It will take time

I remember when I first started playing the guitar, it was difficult to grasp a good sense of rhythm down.

And it took a long time to actually develop a sense of rhythm strong enough to use it in songs and songwriting.

But once you grasp one rhythm, you’ll find it’s easier to grasp a lot more different rhythms.
