Hey everyone, so today, I thought that I would write about this topic because I believe that everyone needs to understand sin.
Let’s get into it.
Background to this topic
So what happened is that I was convicted to talk about this topic when one of these days I saw on the internet the megachurches of the world.
And I saw that there were pastors who made great profits off of the bible.
But they did it in a way that did not glorify God.
In some of the clips that I was watching, I saw them practically glorifying money and not God.
And it’s like they were trying to show the world that God was a god of money.
They were making it look like God was only about money and I didn’t like that.
And so then, I went and I thought about my own blog posts and I said to myself, “Do I only talk about money?”
And then the question went further than that, it went to, “Am I seeking validation from my Christian community when I write these blog posts?”
And my heart was convicted to write more in depth articles about God.
Because though what I have said is true and God does love you all, that’s not where God ends.
And God is so much more than money or a bank.
So let’s talk about this topic
The sin problem
So I’ve talked about John 3:16 before and that talks about the love of God and why Jesus came down to die for us.
But John 3:17 – 20 actually has Jesus speaking of the reason as to why we needed John 3:16.
And so John 3:17-19 states, “For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved, he who believes in him is not condemned but he who believes him not is condemned already for they have not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God. and this is the condemnation that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.”
Right in these verses, Jesus was explaining our very sin nature that separates us from him.
And he said that we loved darkness rather than light because our deeds were evil.
So why is this important?
This is important to know because now we know why we could not go to heaven on our own, but if we were to believe in Jesus, then we can go to heaven.
And it doesn’t matter what we’ve done in life, we can all go to heaven, that part remains true.
The will of the Lord is that everyone in the world should repent of their sins and go to him.
And it doesn’t matter what sins you’ve done, It is the will of the Lord that you go to heaven.
