Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all a little something about the ups and downs of promoting your music.
Let’s get into it
It takes a lot of time and effort
So the first thing that you should know when promoting music is that it takes a great deal of time.
Right now, I’ve ramped up my blogging efforts to around 10 blog posts per day and my is it taking a good chunk of time to put out.
Like right now, I think I’m dedicating a few 4 hours into the blog to try and get the name out.
And there’s actually a reason why I’m doing this.
What happens is that a few days ago I tried to put out more content and see if I would get more views.
And I kid you not, I kid you not, on the day that I put out 6 blog posts, I received 26 views to my blog, when my average for the month was like 17.
And then on the day that I put out 8 blog posts, I received 33 blog views in a single day to my blog.
And honestly, I thought that I could keep doing this.
If numbers like that keep popping up everytime I post up a whole bunch of blog posts, well then I can keep doing it.
But the thing is that it hasn’t done so in the past couple of days.
I think I put out 5 blog posts just yesterday and I only got around 9 views.
And then the next time I think I put out like , 12 blog posts and I only got 15 views.
So like, I don’t know if there is a direct correlation between the amount of blog posts that I put out and the amount of views that I’m getting but, I have a theory.
I asked my mom and she is actually really smart when it comes to these things.
And I asked her, “Do you think that’s enough data to resolve to a conclusion that the more blog posts you put out the more views you’ll get?”
And she said, “I don’t think 4 different days is enough to really say that yes you tried and you drew a conclusion.
Because there could be so many factors affecting that result and it’s just not enough.
What you have to do is you need to test it out over several months and see if there are any seasonal changes to your blog views or if you’re getting more views when you actually post up more often.
It’s all a matter of figuring it out but 4 different days isn’t enough.
You’re going to have to put in more work to be honest with you.”
So I have to try.
I have to try and put out 10+ blog posts per day.
And it’s not easy, I have just released 1 song and I’m about to release another but right now, my biggest asset in the music promotion side of things is not working the way that I expected it to.
I don’t know if that’s because of this new plan that I am implementing in or if it’s something else but I know that I have to put in more work in order to actually make this a reality.
I think I read somewhere on the internet that if you change up something different about your website then you might notice a small dip in traffic because the changes need to catch up in the algorithms.
And if i’m honest with you, I haven’t just changed the post frequency, even though that’s the biggest thing that I’m doing right now.
I also added some QR codes to some of my blog posts so that I can start promoting my music.
These QR Codes are actually the codes to my songs on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube music.
So I’ll put the picture at the bottom of this post in case you guys want to go and check it out.
But let’s do this thing, I’m not giving up and as a matter of fact I’m going to work harder now because this dream is going places if I just put in the work, that’s the promise of God and not mine own.
