Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some insights on Christian music marketing.

Let’s get into it.

Work hard, but don’t burn yourself out

So like with many things that go on in life, I like to compare certain elements with what the Bible had to say about those things.

And in this instance we’re talking about work.

So we should be looking at the ways that the ancient people were commanded by God to work.

Let’s talk about it.

Work hard, but take breaks when needed.

So what happens is that often times, I see people on Facebook and the internet saying that you need to take work to the next level.

And I get it, that’s alright, it’s not bad, it’s the way that you put food on the table and the way that you get by in life.

But how were the Israelites commanded to work and take breaks?

They were commanded to work hard and take a break every Saturday. Nothing should be working on the days that you take your breaks.

Not your servants, not your cattle, nothing is supposed to be working on the day that you take your breaks which was the sabbath.

However, it does say that we were supposed to work for 6 days and that’s alright.

So if you think that you’re not doing everything to get what you need with the work schedule that you have, you have to think again.

Because the Bible was clear that we are to work hard and work for 6 days in the week and on the 7th day we rest.

However.

There were also certain days where these people would take off, certain months as a matter of fact.

And then on the 7th year, they would take off work for the entire year.

It was called the year of Jubilee.

In that year, all debts were supposed to be cancelled.

In that year, everyone took off and rested.

And what they would do is that they would work while saving up for this year. So they would save their food for the 7th year and their money and everything that they had they would save up for that year so that they can rest.

And it was so, and they did so.

Now I’m not saying that you need to do that.

And the reason why I say that you don’t need to do that is because you are not Jewish.

Well you might be, but to those gentiles out there, you are not Jewish and you don’t need to keep the commandments of the Torah anymore.

But what I’m saying is that yes, breaks are very important to the Lord.

Actually the purpose of some of the laws on earth was to give a kind of example of what heaven would be like.

And in heaven we will have work, but we will be able to rest and enjoy the fruits of our labor as well.

Which is a blessing.

So what does that have to do with me?

Well you’re not Jewish, so you don’t have to keep that commandment. However, it is a good example as to the kind of seriousness that we were supposed to take in our rest years.

In our rest time.

The point of our work was to enjoy the fruits of our labor here on earth.

That’s what it looks like God made the whole point of work.

It was to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

But of course we should also be wise with our money and save a little aside for emergencies and save a little bit for the big things in our lives.

but if you don’t want to be burned out with blogging, take a rest day, take a rest week.

Rest up because God will guide you towards holiness in your rest.

Like say for example me, I just rested for a day but now I’m back at it again.

Take your rest serious

So what happens is that I remember that my dad and I were talking about me joining the military.

And he did not want me to.

But he really told me the seriousness of that decision.

He says, “When you join the military, you are not your own anymore, you belong to the military. And you are a cog in the machine that serves a purpose. Therefore you enact upon yourself the position of servantiude. Your whole body becomes the military, everything you do is now the military’s.”

and it really took me a second to really understand what that means.

But I got it.

And likewise, we as Christian musicians need to take our breaks serious because in our breaks is where we act as soldiers of God.

A soldier in the military needs to take his breaks seriously or else he will not perform top notch.

And us as Christian musicians need to break seriously or else we won’t perform top notch.

Anyways, that’s my 2 cents as to how not to get burned out in blogging.
