Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all something unique that’s happening to my music and my music career.

Let’s get into it.

My career is growing.

I’m not going to lie, if I had known that my music career was going to take this long to succeed, I think I would’ve done it sooner.

I’ve been patiently waiting and writing in this blog for nearly 4 and a half years.

And I’m only getting between 500 and 600 views per month with my highest month being 919 views in a single month.

I really don’t understand something though.

According to my analytics, I am right in the range that I should be for impressions to clicks ratio, but it’s dropping.

I’m still getting a lot of impressions and a lot of clicks per month.

But I don’t know, I just wish it was more.

I’ve been working so hard and so long in this blog that It’s just straight up frustrating not seeing like 10,000 views in a single month to my blog.

Like right now, we have around 6 days left in this month and I’m at 460 views for the month.

It’s most likely that I’m going to cross 500 views this month again, but I don’t know it’s just frustrating.

I just wish I had 10,000 views per month to my blog already.

Sometimes, I feel as if though the only way that I’ll get those 10,000 views per month is to advertise, but that’s too expensive for me right now.

However, let’s go in depth about this topic of blowing up in the blog.

So what I was expecting, vs what I’m getting

So what happened is that I was actually expecting for my blog to blow up in a way where the statistics in my blog are like a hockey stick shaped graph.

However, I’m actually getting more so of a staircase way of growth.

Where I get steady views for a few months and then it increases, and then another set of steady amounts of views per month, and then it increases.

The graph itself looks like a staircase.

But it’s in a gradual manner.

Meaning that it’s not directly sharp the amount of traffic that I’m getting from one month to the next it’s more so of like gradual increases in traffic.

And I was actually expecting a Hockey Stick shaped graph when I get blog statistics.

However, just recently, I was reading a blog post where a blogger has had like 3 websites and he just gets gradual increases in the amount of traffic that he gets.

He doesn’t see a hockey Stick shaped graph like how some people say that you should see it.

But if I’m quite honest with you

But. I will be honest with you, I thought that by now, I had already put in the work needed to be successful in a blog.

And yet, it just seems like I need to work harder at all of the things that I do.

I don’t mind the work, it’s just that it’s tedious.

It’s repetitive in the work that I need to do.

Yeah, I know it’s going to pay off though.

You know why I know that it’s going to pay off?

It’s because I put updates on my blog on my 50 most viewed blog posts and so far I’m seeing MONEY results.

And it’s not a lot obviously, It’s around pennies per day.

But I am seeing results.

What I did was I released a song and I started putting up the QR codes to my songs on my most viewed blog posts.

And so far, I AM getting streams.

And the great thing about it is that music streaming platforms have started to pay artists more per stream.

I think Apple Music pays 1 cent per stream now.

So yeah. And I got 30 streams this month from my music just from Apple Music alone.

I got another 31 from Spotify and I think that most of those streams came from my blog and there’s a reason why I say that.

The reason why I say that is because I also promoted my music on Facebook music groups.

However, the lifetime of one of those posts is so short that I can expect immediate results and then for it to just have no results afterwards.

And that’s exactly what I saw.

I also saw that throughout the month, I was gaining listens from different countries.

Which doesn’t make sense because the Facebook Music groups that I put my music on were actually all almost all for United States English Speakers.

But I saw some from different countries and the only form of promotion that’s reaching different countries is my blog.

So even though I’m only getting around 500 to 600 views per month to my blog, it is still making a difference in the amount of music streams that I’m getting.

Now, I’ve learned something else

So what happened is that I would say that I didn’t promote my music properly this time around, and I’m still learning how to promote music if I’m honest with you.

This time around, the only way that people could access my music from my blog, was by taking a screenshot of a QR code that links to my music and getting to my music from there.

However, I just read that in a marketing sense and in a wide variety of scenarios, you are not supposed to do that.

What you’re supposed to do is have links on your website.

Links actually drive more traffic on a website than what a QR Code would do.

And that’s literally all I did, I just put up QR Codes.

So it’s a learning experience, but I’m going to re-update my most viewed blog posts and put up links to my blog posts and see just how much more listens I get to my music compared to just QR Codes.
