How to be a working musician?

Ahh the working musician. Let’s talk about how I do it and how you can do it as well. 

It’s actually quite fun

So what happens is that it’s actually a lot of fun being a musician that gets by. 

And you should be a little more humble with yourself too. 

You should know that when you first start out being a working musician, that you are not going to make a lot of money, However, that’s not going to be permanent. 

There is going to be a time in your life where you will make a lot of money it’s just that it takes time and effort and consistent dedication to either your job or your music or both. 

You can do both. You can absolutely do both. 

And as a matter of fact, I recommend that you do both. 

The reason for this is because if you do both, you will have a great sense of purpose for what you do. 

Say for example me. 

I am currently working right now a full time job, Praise the Lord, and I am working on my music right now as well. 

It’s certainly not easy and I don’t think that it will ever be easy. 

However, who ever said that good things are easy? 

Whoever said that good things come easily? 

And I will admit that there are some late nights doing things that might not be the most fun.

But it’s a life worth living. 

I must say that working a full time job and working in this music dream is doing a few things for me.

So right now, this full time job and this music dream I notice that I’m doing a few things. 

I notice that I am sleeping a lot better. 

Yes this is true, I am sleeping tons and tons better. 

I believe that, that is actually a bible verse.

  And it states in Ecclesiastes 5:12, “The Sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.” 

This is saying that if you work, then your sleep will be sweet. 

And I will be honest with you guys, This past week in the 9 hours that I’ve been working every day, I come home and I just fall asleep. 

And I will admit, that my sleep pattern was off before, but now, it’s back on track I wake up feeling refreshed and feeling good about the sleep that I just had. 

Yes this bible verse is true, the sleep of a laboring man is sweet. 

Another reason to believe in God. 

Yes this bible verse is true. I am a witness to that. 

So don’t give up on yourself and work hard to get your dreams

My pastor once said something interesting, he said, “you can dream all day long, but you need to work hard at your dreams as well.” 

And I know that working hard at your dreams, you can achieve great things. 

The Lord is the one in charge of that.
