So what happens is that most of you know that almost this entire past year, I had written in this blog almost every day sometimes multiple times a day.

And I think I’m going to change that for a couple of reasons.

Let’s talk about it.

So I’m going to write and post for 6 days and rest and not post on the 7th

So what happens is that I had been writing for a long time with every day in mind.

And I’ll be honest with you, I wasn’t sure if I should have done that.

And the reason was because it’s obvious that God wants us to rest.

And I actually learned about this in Sunday school the importance of rest.

Let’s talk about it.

Rest on the Sabbath.

So I work in security.

and I am needed on the weekends.

However, the Bible states that it is okay for people who are needed to work on the weekends.

So say for example Security guards, Soldiers, Policemen, Firefighters, hospitals, and the like.

But my work schedule is so amazing and it gives me time to rest.

So what I was thinking was literally working for the hours that I have. Work the extra day that I have off on my personal projects like this blog, and take off completely on the last day.

And I’ll be honest with you, I don’t want to do this. However, the Lord is more important than anything that I want.

So I’m going to focus on all of my hardwork on the 6 days that I do work. And I’m going to do my absolute best to completely rest on the 7th day.

And I will be faithful to this.

For the Lord has blessed me and I want to do the things that the Lord commands.

Now the Bible in Acts actually talks about this topic.

It says that us Christians are free to live how we want but to steer clear from sinful nature.

The apostles even discuss and say that sabbath keeping was not necessary for the gentiles.

However, as Christians we should know something about sabbath keeping and rest.

When God made some of the rules in the Old Testament, some of those rules were meant to show what heaven was going to be like.

So when God said to rest and to rest like your life depended on it, it was because he was trying to show what heaven is going to be like.

A day where we just enjoy.

And there were other times of rest for the children of God.

Sometimes the children of God rested for a whole year and forgave the debts that they had.

No more debts that they had accrued for the last 7 years.

And sometimes they would take months off of work.

And there was a reason why God had them do that.

The reason was to show that it is not them that provides for their very own mouths to feed, but rather it was the Lord who provided for them.

And on top of all that, they were commanded to be generous with what they had and give to the poor.

Yes the ways of the Lord are perfect.

Now us Gentiles don’t have to do that.

But if it gives an indication as to how serious rest is for the Lord, it is very serious because the Lord is trying to show us what heaven looks like.

So, I’m not going to go on month long vacations, but I am going to rest for a day during the week because in all honesty, I want to try my best to see what heaven is going to look like.

But that’s not all. The Bible is clear that there are blessings for those that keep the sabbath.

So I will be honest with you, when the Bible says that there are blessings for those that keep the sabbath, I know that those blessings are immense.

The Lord has blessed me day in and out every time I do something of his.

And he will continue to bless me every time I show my love for him.

All hail God.
