Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all how to get listeners to your music.
Let’s get into it.
Any promotion is going to help
So what happens is that I was on spotify and on the spotify help articles about how to grow your audience on spotify and I will be honest with you, I found some really interesting articles and tips in that help resource.
However, it also said something that I wasn’t in complete agreement with.
It said that a blog is useless in a musicians promotional mix.
And I thought to myself, that’s really bad advice.
And so I just want to give my 2 cents on promoting music and how you should go about it.
Why a blog is still important in your music promotional mix
In all reality, it’s really professional for a musician to have their own active website. It’s a home for your fans to go to whenever they are looking for your type of content.
If you were to just have nothing but socials, then that’s actually limiting your reach on the internet because now you’re just limited to one social platform or whatever social platform you’re at.
Some of your fans don’t even have x or Facebook or Instagram.
If you were to have all of your content on on of those platforms, then your fans can’t find you anywhere else.
So in all reality, it makes sense to create a website with an active blog so that way you can allow all types of people and users on the internet to find you.
Now you can have all off those other socials and I highly recommend it.
However, even record labels look to see if you have a website where they can check out your content.
So like it’s just an overall professional appearance if you were to have a website or a blog where you update content regularly.
Also, a blog is just an overall great way to gain fans and exposure.
The formula for gaining traction on the internet through a blog is simple, create a lot of content and in time you will get people reading your content.
So like on top of the fact that it’s just a professional piece to your music promotional mix, it’s just a great way to gain views and potentially streams and albums sales.
Furthermore, it’s easier to write blog posts than it is to create a new image for Instagram or to create a New video for YouTube. It’s just easier.
So if you were to just start writing blog posts consistently over a long period of time, it will be a lot easier for you to do than to start making videos.
I have a lot fo work to do.
I’ll be honest here.
I’ll be honest here, I am in a really happy place right now.
My job just gave me full time status and it’s just good overall vibes.
And what happened is that I have been dreaming about this situation for a long time.
I have been dreaming about a point in my life where I could work full time and be a musician on the side and do music on the side.
For those of you that don’t know, that’s called the working musician.
It’s basically a musician with a day job.
I have dreamt about a point where I could work full time and do music on the side and I’ll be honest with you guys, it’s actually quite tiring if I’m honest with you.
But I’m getting by.
And now, I’m finding the rhythm that I need in order to actually come out with these blog posts and work on my music at the same time.
It’s a lot of work. But I know I can do it.
And honestly, I feel so blessed right now and the Lord has been good to me, all hail God.
