The things that I use to make a Christian song

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all the things that I use to create great Christian songs. Now this is not going to go into the production aspect of music making, we’re not going to be talking about DAWs or mixing speakers, today, we’re just going to be talking about writing the song and getting your songs out to the next open mic night. 

Anyways, let’s get into it.

My Guitar

So some of these things may not seem like minimalist things because in reality to make music it’s a little complex. 

But this is going to be the most expensive thing on this list.

Now personally I play the guitar and I write songs on the guitar. 

However, I have seen other musicians take a keyboard to play their songs. 

So it’s actually your choice between piano and guitar but I would play the guitar. \

Some keyboards can be even cheaper than a guitar so you could pick and choose which instrument you want. 

But personally me, I choose one of my guitars and I almost always will choose my acoustic guitar. 

The acoustic guitar because there is a saying in the music world that says, if you can make a great song with just the acoustic guitar and your voice, then you have a great song. 

So I almost always choose my acoustic guitar to start writing my songs and I even like the way that acoustic guitars sound. 

They sound so awesome when playing chords and honestly that’s what you need when you are writing a song. 

A notepad and pen

So it’s actually really easy to create great songs with just your voice, guitar, and pen and paper. 

And it’s actually really helpful to keep all of your notes in one single notepad because that way, you can refer to your own ideas later on down the road in case you want to write a song with elements from a different song. 

The reason why you need a notepad and pen is because it happens a lot in music, you think of something awesome, actually you think of the next big hit, but you forget it and you didn’t write it down so that means you cannot remember the greatest idea known to man. 

There have been artists and songwriters who thought of a great idea and then they go and try and write it down in the studio and just forget completely about it and they say they lost on a big opportunity. 

So pen and paper to remember what your great ideas are. 

Your voice

It’s important as a songwriter that you develop your own voice. 

You need to learn to sing or rap in some way. 

Because those are your biggest money makers. 

The ability to sing is probably the single most money making thing that you could possibly have. 

And if you can sing, it allows you to communicate with people what your ideas are.
