Music Diary Entry: I need to start making bigger moves

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some of the moves I’m trying to make in the up and coming future. 

Let’s get into it.

I need to start performing shows

So I actually was doing this for a little bit a few years ago. 

But I had stopped because my job was asking me to work on days that I needed to perform. 

And the closest place that I could perform literally was happening on the days that I worked. 

Therefore, I couldn’t really perform for a little bit. 

But now, I think I need to start performing live. 

Because with the rise of my music blog, it’s about time that I start taking this music thing seriously. 

I mean right now, I’m getting around 500 views per month to my blog, but this month it looks like I’m going to hit close to 700 or maybe surpass 700 views to my blog. 

And also, I’m doing something else that’s supposed to 10x my blog stats within a few short months and that’s sharing my blog posts on my socials. 

I actually knew that sharing my blog posts on my socials were good for me, but I didn’t know exactly how good it was. 

Until just recently, I saw on the page where it says socials on my wordpress .com homepage, it literally says that if you share your blog posts on your socials then it could 10x your blog stats within a few short months. 

And that’s literally what I need right now. 

I mean this month I could probably get around 700 views in a single month to my blog, but I’m averaging around 500. So 10x 500 views per month and that’s 5,000 views per month to my blog. 

At that point, I could start making some money off of my blog, it’s not ideal, but I could start making money off of my blog. 

What’s Ideal is actually around 10,000 views per month, but all of that will come if I just keep sharing on my socials my blog posts. 

Like literally the only thing that I’ve been doing to get my blog posts out there has been to write blog posts and a lot of blog posts too. 

But the reason why I need to start performing live is because it will help fuel the blog stats. 

If people see me at shows and they like my songs, which they will, then they will check out my website and will go further into my music life. 

So yeah, I think it’s time that I start performing live cause it will take me far. 

Plus when indie musicians first start selling their music, their number on contributing factor to their income will be through album sales at live venues. 

And even though we like to think that people will download our albums and purchase them on Itunes and what not, it’s probably not going to happen because the reality is that most of indie music sales are physical albums: CD’s and Vinyl. 

But not only that, you could get paid through live shows as well. 

I think that indie musicians can get around 200 dollars per night for each night that they perform, maybe 100. But either way, if you can draw a good crowd to your shows, you will earn more. 

And that’s what I’m working on right now.

Anyways, the goal is to make a living off of your music and one way or another, I’m going to do it.
