Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all how to advance in your music blog.

Let’s get into it.

Music blog 101 Content is King

So I think that the beauty of making a music blog is that the number one thing that you’re good at is what you’ll be writing about.

Well of course Jesus first and then whatever it is that you’re writing about comes second.

But you get the gist.

But when you write in a blog, you are writing about your passion and your desires and honestly, it’s just a good overall vibe.

And the thing with a blog is that it’s taken the role for a musician as an online journal, a diary of some sort in some instances and as informative and professional posts in other instances.

Therefore the world is your oyster when it comes to writing in the blog.

I guess to some extent that when you are aiming to get the attention of the majors that you would want to sound a little more professional. However, as an indie musician, I would just have more fun with it than any other thing at first and see where it goes from there.

But anyways, write content daily if you can. Pray to God to help you set aside a time for the blog every single day so that you can continue to grow. And never give up.

Music blog 102 If content is King, then google search console is your queen

What happens is that content is great and all.

As a matter of fact for the first 3 to 6 months of writing in your blog I highly recommend just writing blog posts.

But at a certain point, you want to get on google right?

You don’t just want to be standing in the corner on the internet right?

Therefore getting on google search console is important.

Get on Google Search Console and just watch as your blog starts to take off.

Some people say that a custom domain is better for a blog, but I say work with what you’ve got.

I personally received around 900 views to my blog on my free WordPress website and after another 2 years, I transitioned into a paid domain.

Some people say that a paid domain is overall better for you because more people think that it’s professional and will lead to more views on your site.

However, I say again, work with what you’ve got.

Sharing on socials

Now, I’m not sure about this one.

However, I just read on an article written by a professional WordPress editor that sharing will increase viewership by 10 times within a few short months.

And right now, I’m honestly getting around 500 views a month to my blog so I wouldn’t mind a few thousand views per month to my blog.

And you know, it can’t hurt to try something new.

I think that when people say to share your blog on your socials, it’s really meant for people who already have a foundation to build off of.

This way, when you scale up your blog, it will be a big scale up.
