Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all a little something that I’m starting to do.
Let’s get into it.
I got some tenure under my belt
So what happens is that I’ve got some years playing this music game.
And I feel like I’ve done a lot with the skills that I have.
And I feel that now, I actually deserve to invest some serious money into my music.
I mean to keep it 100 with you guys, I feel like I could do more by doing it the free way. I feel like I haven’t reached my full potential with the free ways that I could create, mix, master, and promote all of my music.
I know I have the know how to do so.
But the thing is that I’m getting to that point where I deserve to invest some serious money into the music game.
Let me tell you why I feel like this is the case.
Some wise words that my mom once told me
What happened is that when I first started playing the guitar, my parents got me a really cheap guitar.
It actually was a wal-mart guitar.
It was a real guitar, but it was one of those wal-mart branded guitars.
However, I did not care, it was a guitar and I wanted to play it.
So I played the mess out of that guitar.
And in 2 years, my parents thought I had been so faithful with the guitar that they bought me that they decided to buy me 3 more guitars!
And I remember at the time my prize guitar was my electric which was an Epiphone Les Paul.
It costed around 250 with the case it came out to be more about 400.
I remember I got the Gibson Les Paul case with that and supposedly those cases can survive car crashes.
But anyways, I played the mess out of those guitars, and finally in my freshman year of college, I had already done some big achievements in music.
I won an award in music from the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. I was the leader of several sections in the music departments of my school, and I was just an overall well rounded musician.
And what happened is that I had saved around 1,000 dollars from the job that I was working.
And I went to my mom and I said, “Mom, I want to use this money for a new guitar, what do you think?”
And she said, “Will it be a really nice guitar?”
And I said, “Yes it will be a really nice guitar.”
And she said, “You deserve it. Go buy it.”
So I went to Guitar Center and I found the cheapest Taylor guitar that was what I needed.
And I can’t quite remember which Taylor I bought, but it was a Taylor 110 ce.
It was such a nice guitar, the way that the guitar played was so nice, I remember my hands just fit perfectly into that guitar and every time I played it, it’s like the best sound that I could produce from an acoustic guitar would come out of the guitar.
But I’m getting off topic.
Back to the wise words that my mom was telling me.
What happened is that I learned something from my mom that day.
Because what happens is that my mom doesn’t like to buy expensive things.
She doesn’t get expensive things.
But when I asked her if she thought it was okay if I bought an expensive guitar, she said yes to it.
And I saw something there that I thought was pure genius.
The only time you buy expensive tiered level items is when you either deserve it or when you need it.
So for example, a college student in engineering might need a really expensive computer because they have to download really big softwares that could use up all of the resources on the computer.
Or maybe an artist might need to buy his own studio so he can focus on creating art masterpieces.
You know what I mean?
But in this instance, my mom thought that I deserved it and so now I will apply that to my music career.
I’ve gone as far as I could and I know I could do more by doing it free
But I honestly think that now is the time when I can start investing some serious money into the music game.
So for now, I’m going to start advertising some of my music services on google so that way I can start making a little extra dough on the side.
I heard that online advertising has a really good ROI though.
So you know we’ll see.
