Music Diary Entry: Independent Music Study

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all the fact that I’m doing independent study on music now. 

Let’s get into it. 

My independent study

So what happens is that right now, I’m going to start to study songs that are on the radio. 

Particularly Christian songs that are on the radio. 

Now there’s a reason why I’m doing this. 

The reason is because I like to create music my own way. 

However, I’m now being asked by record labels to create music that sound similar to what is on the radio. 

And I get it, I need to create commercial ready releases so that it gets placed on the radio. 

I’m still going to write my own music and do my own music my way, 

But now, I’m going to focus on creating radio ready songs that sound good. 

How will I do this study?

I will study songs for their melodic and harmonic concepts. 

Of course, I’m going to study other aspects of the song as well, 

But my focus right now is to create great songs in the manner that’s on the radio. 

So far, I have a big hint in what my music should sound like and that’s by a certain radio station that I was told to listen to. 

The radio station in particular is K-love. 

K-love is the radio station that I need to listen to in order to create music that sounds like what they want to hear. 

And right now, I’ve already begun my study on music and chords. 

It’s something different. 

But i can already see a pattern that is going on in Christian music. 

I will start to journal these music concepts and write them in this blog as well. 

Therefore, people from all over the world can benefit from my studies. 

I’m actually interested in the production side of gospel music as well. 

I’m actually highly interested in producing gospel and Christian tracks as well. 

The reason is because I’m actually a whole musician. 

I prefer to actually make the whole production or at least go a little deeper than just lead vocals, guitars, and drums. 

The Lord has given me this opportunity. 

I’m so excited for this new part of my life
