Music producer practice that you should be doing

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some music productions practices that you should be doing. 

Let’s get into it.

Should be learning every day

So music producers start with music theory.

The reason is because music theory helps to identify patterns that are needed to create great songs. 

And in order to really learn music theory, you need to have spent a lot of time practicing music. 

There’s a reason for this, it’s actually the very effective manner of learning music theory to practice music for years first and then getting into the deep dive of music theory. 

You should be learning the basics of melody construction and hook theory. 

If you’re a guitarist or a pianist, you should be learning how to play the guitar and sing at the same time. 

You should be learning how to just master the fundamentals. 

And when you master the fundamentals, go above and beyond that to get what you really want. 

should be listening to music every day

When you listen to music every day, you pick up on patterns of music that would be invisible to the naked eye. 

I picked up how to make drum beats just by pure listening to music alone. 

You also pick up how to mix by listening to a large quantity of music. 

Of course at good quiet levels of volume.

This way you don’t hurt your ears.

Should be mixing every day

Mix, mix, and mix some more. Never give up on mixing. 

Mixing will make your songs shine and make you a more well rounded musician in the recording studio. 

Practicing your voice

Your voice is the one instrument that you cannot ignore because with it, you could conduct orchestras, you can sing melodies, you can create drum beats, etc. etc. 

They say that your voice is the true money maker in the music industry. 

And with good reason.

The most wealthy musicians that are out there are the singers. 

it’s just a little fact. 

The wealthiest musicians are the frontman. 

I guess it’s because when you think of a band, you really think of the frontman.

The frontman is the image of the band and I guess that all of the sponsors want to associate themselves with the lead singer.

Maybe back in the day it could’ve been different for guitarists, but it would still stay the same even back then.
