Professionals need a social media account

A following is a powerful tool to have in this day and age. There are companies that only hire people who have a social media following. There are advantages of having a social media following. One being that you can make significant money through social media. Another I that it gains power. Today I will be talking about why I believe a social media following is absolutely necessary in this day and age as a professional.

Quite a few jobs require a social media presence

What happens is that I have been around a few companies where they straight up asked me if I had a following on social media.

I can’t remember the company’s that I applied for but that’s definitely not the end of the story. The current car dealership that I work at (I’m a car salesman) actually had on the application if I had a social media following . I said no I don’t because I thought they meant like a relevant following for social media. Like they wanted a car influencer. I am not I am a musician influencer so I put no I did not.

But when I stated working, they straight up asked me again and said, “German do you have a social media following?” I said no again and they said, “well if you get your Facebook friends to buy cars it helps you out. And I said, “ahhh I get it.” Then yes I do have a following, it’s not big but I do have a following. And they said, “well just do your best to get your Facebook friends in here.

I of course have sold 2 people on my Facebook already.

But that’s not it, if my blog does really good, I could promote my car sales job on my blog and then I would get an extra few cars per month from my blog.

The key is that I have to build up my blog intently and with rigor. I have to put in some serious hours so that I can start getting around 10,000 views per month. I’m on my way there. I feel like last month I could’ve hit like 700 views again because I had some pretty big days last month,( talking about January)

But that’s not the end of the story

As a creative in most fields, you really need a social media following to succeed.

It just creates a client base that you can use to sell your products to.

And so now I say, that professionals just need a social media following.

Business books recommend developing a social media following to promote your products,

Online gurus recommend it too.

Real Estate Agencies recommend it too. A few other sales positions recommend it too. It’s not just car sales.
