Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to give some insight as to how my blog started vs. how it’s going now.

Let’s get into it.

Back track 6 years ago

So what happens is that 6 years ago, I really wanted to launch my music blog. However, I wasn’t sure of how to do it.

I wasn’t sure of how I could make this blog a success. But I started to pray about it. And then, I learned the number one most important rule of blogging and that’s that, you need to be creating a lot of content on a daily basis.

And it takes a long time to do it.

Now, I setup my blog with a really basic setting at the time, I put up a couple of pictures, made a couple of pages, and then I had my blog.

I remember my first month blogging, I actually made around 24 views that month.

Which is really nothing compared to how much you’re supposed to make a month. I literally thought to myself that I was going to make it big within a few months and I was going to be rolling in the dough soon enough.

But in the third month, I remember that all I got was 15 views for the whole month. How devastating!! I had worked all of those 3 months to see my biggest failure of a month so soon.

But I kept going and in the 6th month, I made 119 views that single month.

Yes I felt so recuperated at that point.

The 7th month came and I only made 60 views but then, a family emergency happened and I was forced to go on a break. Yes I remember so clearly, it was some dark times at this time. I faced homelessness, joblessness, it was terrible.

I just prayed about it and shook it off.

The Lord answered in those days.

Yes the Lord answered.

However, I was faced with a dilemma 4 months after that, I felt as if though I couldn’t continue the blog. I felt as if though I had failed at the blog. So I said to myself, “I have 2 options, either continue what I started or start over and hit it right this time.”

It was a tough decision because a bunch of the gurus on the internet recommend starting over, but other people recommend staying in. So I had to choose, and I remember praying hard and long about it.

I remember I spent many nights before I did anything just thinking about what I should do next.

And finally, I came to the conclusion, stay in.

I stayed in and I started posting blog posts up to my blog again and would you believe that immediately, I saw a big jump in my statistics, I saw nearly 200 views in a single month, which was the biggest month that I had ever had.

Apparently the Lord lead me to the right decision, like he always does.

Now

My biggest month was more than 900 views in a single month. I’ve won a few badges too from wordpress.com. I consistently get between 500 and 700 views per month. The Lord is good.

It was a long gradual haul if I’m quite honest with you.

But with the Lord’s help, I will continue to do this for years to come.

Only God has the future in his hands, only him.
