Hey everyone! So today, I’m trying to go over how I made the song that I just released titled, it’s the Lord.
Let’s get into it.
The lyrics
I was trying to tell the world that the Lord is the reason for the seasons. I was trying to tell the world that my only reason is the Lord
And I said it in a song that would have the appropriate melody and chords to majestify the word the Lord as much as possible.
The more advanced my music production skills get, the better my lyrics will shine.
Of course the songwriting needs to be there before the production aspects can be there but it will all work out if I continue to muscle through and work hard at my music.
The Lyrics were an attempt at using poetry to glorify the Lord, as with all of my songs, but this time I feel like my lyrics are becoming the exact thing that songwriters need in their songwriting processes.
So I’m really satisfied with these lyrics.
The melody
I was trying to make it a really sweet sounding melody. So i tried my best to keep it simple and slow for the majority of the song. But very impactful in the chorus.
I followed a typical pop song structure in the chorus and verses. In the verses I started off low and in the chorus I ended up high.
It sounds really good and I think that the way that this song sounds melodically speaking, it will shift people to and from their seats all over the world.
I’m trying to experiment with different melodic contours in order to make my melodies shine through. I think that they are coming out really strong if I’m honest with you.
More study needs to go into these melodic contours to make them strong and hooky.
Chords
The chords were a basic one- five- six- four chord progression .I forgot what key it was in, maybe A flat or A .
I chose this key because it resonated well with my voice.
It allowed me to sing the high parts strong and the low parts effective.
That’s the reason why i went with that key.
There were a couple of Sus chords and y chords in the mix of that.
But all in all it was a simple chord progression with simple techniques just added onto it.
Simple strumming patterns, simple chord progressions.
The Production
I always have a lot of fun producing the songs.
The reason why is because I learn a lot from producing my own songs.
I learn that songs are simple yet effective pieces of art.
That the same artists and producers use all the time. Therefore. I’m not inclined to use something that’s completely out of the ordinary in order to get the song out there.
I use a simple drum pattern that mainly remains in pocket.
Nothing fancy, nothing out of the ordinary. Just something that gets the job done.
I feel like I could really spice things up if I were to practice listening to a wide array of music maybe not just hip hop and pop hits.
Though I feel like right now I have a solid understanding of how music works.
For the Pads, I just did a simple chord progression that follows after the chords in the song.
Nothing fancy.
And for the backing vocals, I tried to make a round effect but just finished after the first round because there were more lyrics after the long notes.
I layered the backing vocals so that it sounds stronger.
Lots of practice to be done in the realm of producing.
Of course I also layered the guitars.
Promotion
Right now, I’m actively trying to promote my music across a bunch of channels. Though If I’m quite honest with you, I’m seeing the best results from my blog.
It’s not easy to do it but I’m confident that if I maintain with my blog and social media strategy, then I will receive great return on my music.
I need to gain more social media followers if I’m quite honest with you.
I’m working hard to gain those social media followers.
But it will be a challenge to gain them.
I know it’s not impossible though.
The Lord will make it possible.
The Lord is always good. And he will always provide.
Artwork
I took a picture of the sky one of these days and I thought to myself, “It’s the Lord who does this.”
And so I used that picture as the cover art for my song because it’s the Lord who does this.
Yes the Lord is the one who makes things possible.
I thought to myself that the Lord is so amazing that he let me witness such a beautiful sky that day.
The Lord is so beautiful that he allowed me and blessed me to witness such beauty.
What was this song originally made for?
I originally made this song so that I could share it with record labels. I had received a record label who said that they liked my song and that they wanted to continue with the whole process of hearing more music from me.
I feel so loved and blessed right now, I feel valuable right now because now people understand that I’m not just some musician who can’t walk the walk.
I feel like I have something valuable to share to the world.
The Lord is my strength
The Lord has helped me all throughout these days.
I could be nowhere if it wasn’t for the Lord.
The Lord guided me and strengthened me when I had no strength.
The Lord was my guide when I had no guide.
The Lord was my rock when I had no rock.
Forever I will glorify the Lord throughout all of my days and after death.
The Lord Jesus has been perfect all my life and he will remain perfect for the rest of my life.
I am his forever.
I’m feeling really good right now
Right now, is a winning moment.
Right now feels like a moment where I just haven’t failed.
The Lord has helped me to be the man that I always wanted to be and he has done the impossible in my life.
Right now, it’s late, tomorrow is another busy day, and I’m just getting started in life.
The Lord will be my guide forever and ever.
All hail the Lord.
For he will reign forever and ever.
You know it’s funny because I felt for the longest time, I just needed to have a car. However, the Lord has shown me that I didn’t need that and there were so many other things that i could do without the car that it just wasn’t necessary.
Literally all of these years I’ve been getting along just fine without having my own car.
But the Lord will guide me to have the car that I need and want.
The Lord will give me strength to make sales and to make the money that I need and want with my car sales and with my music.
The Lord is too perfect to let me down.
I have never once been so confident in the Lord.
I have always been a little skeptical but the Lord has really proven to me that he is in fact the strength in my heart.
He has proven to me that he is in fact everything that I need.
I’m just so excited right now, I’m actually doing what I want and need to do!!
AHHHH
I just can’t believe that my dreams are finally coming true!
