Worshiping God is such an amazing thing to do. As humans, we were meant to worship God and God alone. So, that’s why we have the craving for wanting something more, something eternal, and something that only God can give. Today we will talk about why worshiping God is important and why it would benefit us.
We need it
Our bodies and minds crave and have the desire to fill ourselves up with something eternal, God. That is the reason why people will often times look for the bigger things in life or they will be looking to serve a god when in reality, the god of Heaven, Jesus, The great I Am, is the only one who can satisfy that craving. God is the only thing that will fill us up because he is eternal, he is good, he does work, and he will always be.
Worship with our bodies
One of the ways that we worship God is with our bodies. By staying sober, keeping chaste until marriage, and treating your body as if though it was a temple, you can worship God with your bodies. I know it sounds like a lot to do; however, God’s ways are actually the good way. God’s promises are not in vain and are fulfilling, so trust in him when you commit to do these things for God will be the one to reward you.
Worship with our music
I am a heavy musician. In high school I was known as the guitar man. All of my friends wanted to nickname me after a famous guitarist because they thought I was that good. I’ve won music awards, and all of this to say that you should worship God with your music. Out of all those years of rapping rap songs and singing secular music, I can honestly say that nothing filled my heart more than when I was in church with a piano and singing with a choir that probably didn’t even sound that good. It was so fulfilling to me and it filled my heart every time I heard those songs.
Worship with your soul
When we accept Jesus into our hearts, we become free from sin. When I didn’t want God, I loved the things of the world. I loved every bit about the world more so than anything that God would give me; however, when I really started to accept Jesus into my life, I lost the taste for all of those things. I also saw how bad and poisonous those things were to me, so all of those things turned stale in my mouth and never made me feel the same way ever again.
You should worship God with everything that you have and own and are. If you’re a Christian soccer player, be the best Christian soccer player ever, if you’re a Christian Lawyer, be the best Christian lawyer that any lawyer has ever seen. God knows that different people are used in today’s society so not everyone has to be called to be a preacher, but rather, everyone must face their own calling and accept it in their lives.
