Sleep Lean

Hey guys, I just wanted to take a moment to talk about Sleep Lean. Sleep Lean is a weight loss supplement with sleeping as its side quest. I am writing about this because as musicians, we are supposed to look good. We musicians in a way have to be attractive. Not saying that anyone is ugly, but losing weight often helps people to be confident in their appearance and makes them less shy about their looks. Also, us musicians are supposed to be role models. So in order to be the role model that we are supposed to be, our physical appearance matters too. Which is why I am writing about Sleep Lean. It’s a weight loss supplement that will double down and help us get rest. Rest is so essential for the musician because it helps our brain to be more creative and function at a high level that this supplement just makes sense for musicians. Go get Sleep Lean and see if it makes you more confident.

All music theory revolves around the same concepts: harmony, beat, rhythm, and melody. You have to harmonize with the chords in order to sound good and you have to have dissonance at the same time in order to create contrast in the music.

You need to have beat and rhythm so that everybody knows when to come in at the right time. And of course you need to have the melody basically leading the way of the song.

Today, we will talk about music theory for Christians and how to use it, let’s get started.

Step 1 the basics

So, it is literally impossible for me to tell you everything that there is to know about music theory in one blog post.

Not only that, but you need practice in order to understand what is really going on in the song that you’re listening to.

I could show you a guitar riff and you would have no idea what the meat and bones is of that guitar riff but all you know is that it sounds cool, haha!

If you’re a brand new person who doesn’t know anything about music, I would highly recommend not even starting with this blog post and first starting off with a few lessons on piano or guitar.

Any instrument would really do, it’s just that I find that those instruments are very easy to learn music theory on. Guitar can do chords and leads and all sorts of crazy things while the piano has a full 8 octaves to play with. Pick your choice and stick with it.

If you’ve been around the music scene for a while, I would highly recommend the next few lessons that I’m about to teach you, so stick around.

General music theory

So, if you’ve listened to me so far, you already have an understanding of basic music theory. Things like notes, clefs, beat, and rhythm you probably have a good understanding about. Now we’re going to expand on that.

In general, if you want a happy song, then you’re going to want to pair that with a fast beat and major chords.

In general, if you want a sad song, then you’re going to want to pair that with a slow beat and minor chords.

Of course you could make music all over the spectrum of emotions.

Sometimes you can pair minor chords with a fast beat, that could sound dark or inspiring depending on how you shape it. Or you could use Major chords with a slow beat and that would sound nostalgic to some people.

Rhythm also has a very important aspect to music.

When exactly to play the notes can tell you if it’s an upbeat song or a downbeat song. It really just depends on what you want to make the song about.

Sound on Sound is a good writing source for musicians.

A little more advanced

When you write songs, your music should be in sync with the chords and the key. I don’t just mean rhythm wise. I mean if you say something happy, you should play a minor chord over that. If you sing something sad, then you should play a minor chord over that.

For things with emphasis, you need to hit them on the downbeat instead of the upbeat. Or if you want to put a lot of emphasis, sing it for a long time in the song.

If you want to get the crowd amped up, then singing things fast could be your best bet.

Oftentimes though when we sing fast things we tend to only sing one note when we’re doing the runs so watch out for that little tip.

Start off low and sing high

Start off low and sing high in the chorus. That’s a good way to get started. Your music will sound professional and you could get a hit if you do it right for a long enough time.

Honestly

Honestly, if you want, start off with a Chord progression and just start writing lyrics to that. Write lyrics and write songs based off of those things and sure enough, you’ll start writing music that is jaw dropping.
