What is Easter?

Is Easter a time for family and friends? Is Easter a time for Bunnies? Is Easter a time for chocolate and treats? I’m here to say that it’s actually none of those things. Easter is a time to celebrate Jesus and what he did on the cross.

            Let’s talk about this.

Jesus died and resurrected.

            2022 years and 3 days ago, our Lord was crucified on the cross. Our Lord Jesus who is innocent for the things they charged him with, died on the cross.

            The reason why we celebrate the fact that Jesus died on the cross and resurrected again, means that everything that he preached is true. Everything that he ever said is true. It means that we are going to rise again with him.

            Us Christians are going to rise again on the last day and Jesus will take us all to heaven. There will be no sorrow, there will be no pain, and God will make sure that everything is perfect.

And what happened was that Jesus is the sacrifice that God needed for the world’s sins. Jesus is the perfect lamb of God that died for us. What happened is that back in the day, the Jews were responsible for preaching to the nations.

And what happened was that God knew that mankind was going to hell if it did not have a redeemer.

So he sent his son to die for us.

The reason why he needed to die lies in the Jews and the promises that God made.

What happened was that in the ancient Israelites days, if you ever sinned against God, then you needed to sacrifice a perfect lamb at the alter so that your sins could be covered and you could go to heaven.

And God did good, however he knew that everyone in the world needed a perfect lamb to cover their sins not just the Jews.

So he made a promise to the world and the promise was that he was going to send someone to die on the cross so that the world’s sins could be covered.

He was going to send a perfect lamb.

Jesus is the perfect lamb.

And we celebrate Easter Sunday because Jesus rose again on this day. Which means now if we believe in him, then we will also go to heaven.

Why is this so important?

            Well on top of the fact that a human came back from the dead, there are prophecies that say that say that Jesus is the one and true God, Jesus was going to succeed at bringing hope to the human race, Now we can believe in Jesus and Jesus will get us to heaven, and all we have to do is believe in him and we will go to heaven.

            Jesus also said that when they would kill him, he would rise on the third day. At that point, our hope would have been restored. It literally means that the whole world can go to heaven.

So, today is Easter Sunday

            So, today is Easter Sunday and we should rejoice at the fact that now, we can have as much God as needed in our lives. Our God is here and he lives in our hearts! That wasn’t always the case.

            The Jews are the chosen people of God, and God made them have one chosen man out of all the Jews to go and represent the Israelites once a year. However, this man had to be a Holy man. This man had to have God in his heart at all times and if he didn’t and he were to try and meet God in the Holy of Holies, then he would die.

            What happened is that the Holy of Holies was a place where God dwelt, and it was too holy for any man to step foot unless you were holy.

            The Holies of Holy was covered by a veil and this veil separated the world from the Holy of Holies.

            However, when Jesus died on the cross, the veil tore. THE VEIL TORE!!! There was an earthquake and sure enough that meant that anyone could talk to God at any time that they wanted.

            So now you! That’s right YOU can talk to God at any time of the day and you can talk to him about anything that you want. There is hope in the future, there is hope in God, there is hope for you! God can and God will help you if you go to him.

            If you want to go to heaven, then believe in Jesus and Jesus will get you into heaven.
