Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some principles that I have for all musicians.
Before we get into this, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to create wholesome Christian content. Ask God to make our content holy and that it blesses his name every time we write. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show
Should Christian musicians blog?
So I personally think that every musician should blog and create content in general on a consistent basis.
I personally think that you should be writing in your blog at least once a day.
I know that there are many people out there who say that you only need to blog between 3 – 4 times a week to see great growth, but I personally don’t believe in, not a lazier way to do things, but a less stronger way to do things.
Because it can be really challenging coming out with 3 – 4 posts a week.
But honestly, the only way that you’ll be able to pump out 1 or 6 posts a day is if you just start writing those posts.
And at first they might be bad posts.
I’m not going to lie to you they might not look that great, but just the practice of writing every day will prepare your blog for when you do get good at writing.
And there is a statistic out there, don’t quote me on this because I don’t remember where I saw it, but I saw somewhere that someone who posts once per day has a 67% chance of seeing significant success.
And some of you guys have seen me from the beginning and you know that I post almost every day. So you guys know that this is true because I am starting to see significant success in my blog.
Anyways, I personally believe that the more you blog, the better that your chances of being a success are going to be.
And the primary reason for blogging so much is because it’s great for marketing.
For those of you that don’t know, marketing is a legit business term that is used in real business.
And Marketing is a General term used to describe a way that you obtain clients for a business.
I’m pretty sure that if you’ve ever tried to start a business you’ve probably ran into the term Market research. It’s just seeing how many paying customers would actually pay for the services or goods that you have and where they are so you can go advertise to them. And of course advertising is the method that you reach out to them.
I’m pretty sure you’ve seen those commercials with Car dealerships selling their cars, that’s advertisement.
Or maybe you’ve seen home remodeling companies on the internet show up as a sponsored post on google, that’s advertising.
And those are legit ways to market and advertise for a business, and it would be IDEAL if you could do the same, but the problem is that advertising on T.V. or Internet can be really expensive.
And thus, blogging comes in.
On top of the fact that Blogging has like 50 times better success rate than T.V. or internet, it’s also nearly free.
The only thing you need is a computer and internet connection.
I mean for a while I was even just writing my blog posts on my phone, so I don’t even know anymore if you need a computer.
But you do need internet connection and any old library can actually provide that for you, or a cafe, so that cuts the cost of the internet connection.
And then some libraries have computers and if you have a phone, I mean like you basically do it for free.
And it can generate more money than T.V. or Internet paid promotions would do.
Don’t get me wrong, there are times where you might want to promote on T.V. or the Internet, but as a starting musician and even into the bigger leagues in music, a blog or a social media following is almost all you’ll ever need.
And literally the only thing you have to do is to create content.
I know that sounds hard to believe but if you don’t believe me, then go pay for a certificate to teach you what I’m teaching you now. Even those certificates aren’t that expensive, I think I paid mines for like 10 dollars and it taught me most about blogging.
It really is that simple.
But you have to write great content.
It can’t be content that you just barely do anything in it.
Like it has to be something that you actually tried in.
Another good reason as to why you should blog.
There are other reasons as to why you should blog. The second primary reason as to why you should blog is to develop your songwriting ability.
What happens is that all that writing is going to develop your songwriting ability.
Any and all writing is great for lyric writing.
And all of this writing will bless your lyrics. I don’t care if you’re not writing poetically or if you’re just writing plain educational text, but writing will help your lyrics.
