Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all the beginner’s guide to content marketing.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to follow him throughout all of our lives. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

The beginner’s guide to content marketing

So what is content marketing?

Simply put, content marketing is when you create great, insightful, valuable content that will bring people closer to your music through a long term-strategy.

So the Long term strategy is that you just need to create content for a long period of time, whatever that content may be, and people who like you will just gravitate towards you.

Content marketing is not easy, like a whole bunch of other things in life, but it is well-worth it.

It is well-worth every single minute that you invest in it.

I remember when I first started this journey in content marketing for my music, I was seriously overwhelmed with all the options and techniques that I could use in order to promote my music.

It was a wave of choices and honestly, I just felt overwhelmed.

But honestly, just pick one or two of your most favorite channels to go on and just roll with that for a little bit.

After you have gained attention on one channel, then you can focus on gaining attention on all of the channels.

But let’s look as to what that means to a musician

So in regular content marketing, you do not want to say personal things about your life, and today, that’s true to a point in music marketing.

But in the musician’s world, you need to share some personality in your blog posts and videos in order to really benefit from content marketing.

I know it can be a little bit daunting sharing a little bit of personality on the internet.

But just know that no matter what you do in life, you are going to get hate, so don’t worry about the hate that you might receive.

Just focus on your career and you will go far.

So you need to focus on your personality and really get personal.

Don’t get too personal.

If you feel like saying that you’ve been to jail is a bad idea then don’t say it.

I share that I’ve been to jail because it’s part of my story of how I got closer to God so I don’t mind sharing it.

I share that story so that people from all walks of life can see that God can change anyone in the world.

But that’s up to you.

Don’t go into sensitive information that will put you vulnerable but put yourself into a position where you can inspire people with your words and your stories.

So share your personality and get personal, but not too personal. If you are ever in doubt as to what you should and should not share, you should probably ask someone who cares about you as to what you should share and what you should not share.

Talk about music

Whatever it is about music. Sometimes I talk about music theory on this blog. Other times I talk about instruments. For the most part I talk about Christianity and content creation.

Just know that you are trying to come off as an expert in your career.

So just share your expertise and what you do to be that expert.

There is a statistic that says, 40% of all people at a concert are people looking to become a famous musician.

That’s a big chunk of the concert going population.

So you have to chase after where your people are.
