Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some music things that every Christian musician should at least consider doing.

Keep in mind that these things that I’m about to share with you are just my opinions because there are many things that every musician should probably do.

I’m just giving you guys a little bit of wisdom from my own music experience and things that I think would greatly benefit every musician no matter what kind of musician they are.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to follow him throughout all of our days. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

Music endeavors

So what happens is that I break up my music endeavors into two basic categories.

Category 1 is the talent aspect of the musician’s career.

This category revolves around the fact that musicians need to develop skills all around their musical abilities.

Category 2 is the music business aspect of the whole thing.

This is the paperwork that you have to do in order to ensure that you get paid, you are protected, and that you further your career in the long run.

So let’s talk about Category one

Category 1 Talent

So talent takes many shapes and forms and actually I recommend everyone to develop as much core music skills as possible.

Some basic music skills are basic music theory, instruments, singing, etc. etc.

It takes some time to develop these skills but I get it, I’m not talking to any amateurs here.

I’m talking to some musicians who know what they’re doing.

If that’s the case, then you should probably learn some more advanced topics in music such as music production and m mixing.

Trust me when I say that if you know at least the basics of mixing, then your mixes will sound a lot better and when you talk to people in the music industry who really know what they’re doing, you’re going to come out as a professional and you’re going to look knowledgeable.

Not to mention you’re going to get the job done right.

Same concept goes for production.

So Production, learning instruments, mixing, etc. etc. anything musical will benefit you greatly, just go out there and learn as much as possible.

Category 2 Music biz

Music business revolves around how many fans you can get to your shows.

How many fans can you get to listen to your music?

Ultimately if you’re a great songwriter or musician, you should get through this phase pretty well.

Because if you do a good enough job at the music, then the music sells itself.

But for a beginner musician, in this day and age it starts with building an online following.

You need a following of engaged and loyal readers and participators and honestly, more people will look at you if you do this.

So in this section you should start a blog, or a YouTube channel. Or maybe gain a following on a social media platform.

Whatever you choose, just make sure that you start posting content, there is a saying on the internet that says, “Content is King.”

So treat your content like you would a part time job.

Remember it’s not easy, but with enough work, anyone can do it.
