Hey everyone! So today, we’re going to talk about if we really can do well in our music career on our own or if we need the help of other people to succeed.
Let’s talk about it.
By yourself
So it goes without say that if you’re a solo artist, you will often times fly “solo”.
I know big shock right.
But that’s because when you first start out, no one really believes in you just yet.
I mean, how many times have we seen on instagram or Facebook an up and coming band that puts out content only for that band to get flooded away by the next 10,000 more interesting bands and artists that there are.
I mean those people will often have a team of other people helping them out to succeed.
And it’s not easy gaining those people to begin with.
But rest assured that every Eminem and Taylor Swift, Every Biggie and Dr.Dre
Most often than not, they all started similar.
Playing small and just barely getting by.
So in reality, yes you can do it on your own.
And you can make it on your own.
But the problem is that it takes significant skill doing each section of your music career on your own.
Like say for example singing and playing guitar.
It takes years to being able to sing correctly and playing guitar takes the same.
And then on top of all that, you need to create content on your socials and a blog and YouTube channels.
You have to develop songwriting abilities and it all just takes time to really acquire the skills needed to succeed in a music career.
It’s frustrating to be honest with you.
But rest assured it’s possible, it just takes time and effort.
With a team

Now with that being said, It’s ideal that you have a team of people that help you to establish your music career.
It’s ideal to have a record label behind your back because they offer so much to the starting musician.
But in all reality, it takes a lot of money to hire the right people to do the job that you need to do.
So my advice is that you need to be able to live comfortably with your music sales and ticket sales that you make off of your tours and then set off to impress major labels.
I mean who wouldn’t want a well professional music attorney helping you out with the contracts and getting you in the right position to write songs with the right people?
But it takes time of doing it on your own first before you make a team.
My advice to you
So my advice and what I’m doing right now is that I am currently working on making a living off of my music first before I go off and start to ask other people for help.
And It’s okay if I’m not the best mixing engineer or producer, but my effort will show when it comes down to it.
