Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all a little background into the lives of a working musician.
Let’s get into it.
It’s tough
I’m not going to lie, it’s tough staying afloat.
Right now, I’m currently a car salesman and I’ve been doing so for almost a year now. It’s been almost 8 months.
And I will be honest with you all, it’s a little exhausting.
However, Just recently we actually had a sales meeting with my car sales managers.
And what happens is that you should know that these guys that I’m talking about are millionaires.
And what happened is that we were talking with some of these dudes and there was one who is actually the trainer for all of the salesman including the managers.
And what happened is that he confessed right there in the sales meeting that he had been broke all the way in the beginning of his career.
He confessed that he had nothing at the start.
And what happened is that he said, “Now when I started making decent income and I started getting ahead in life, there was something that I had to do in order to become a millionaire.
I had to give a piece of myself in order to become a millionaire.
And I honestly didn’t understand what he meant when he said that he had to give a piece of himself to become a millionaire.
However, now I’m understanding.
What happened is that, that meeting happened a few weeks ago. And I was thinking to myself, “If I could just dedicate more time into my music and my blog and in my car sales, I too could be a millionaire.”
And I saw then what he meant by it takes more than that to become a millionaire.
You have to be willing to put yourself at risk in search for the millions of dollars that are going to come your way.
Honestly, I was a little sad because In my head I just thought that it takes a fan do spirit, patience, and a good attitude to move forward in life.
But the way that he is describing it is through ambition.
You have to have ambition in order to become a millionaire.
I get it, but to me, I can’t have ambition over something that isn’t God.
I remember I used to have ambition for music.
I wouldn’t do anything illegal. But I would skip eating for the sake of practicing the guitar or singing or piano.
I would literally skip doing homework for music, I wouldn’t sleep for the sake of trying to study more music.
It was crazy, Some might call it an obsession, but to me it was ambition.
But I’ll be honest, I got rid of my ambitions long ago.
When I gave my life to Christ, my ambition was in Christ.
In Christ, I was willing to die for him, I was willing to lose sleep, I was willing to not eat, I was willing to lose everything that I ever was in order to be with him.
And now, that you want me to gain riches, you want me to have that same ambition that I have for Christ as I do with money?
No, I can’t do that. For God is my number one.
God is my life.
Don’t get me wrong, the Bible does say to work hard.
So I will work hard.
and it will be through God, that I will earn my riches.
The Music side of life
I will be honest here, music takes a lot to do.
You need to be emotionally available to do it.
You need to be in the right strength to do it because music is a big mental game.
And you need to put out consistently,
It’s tough but I won’t give up because the Lord has given me strength to do big things.
I haven’t released new music. Although I am currently living the life that I’ve always wanted.
I wanted to have my own things and pay my own bills and have my life.
But it’s just taxing.
I know when I’m exhausted because I’ve been exhausted before.
Usually I have strength to do a lot.
But with these 60 hour weeks that I’m putting in, plus gym, and I just can’t feel like I can actually put into these blog posts or my music as much.
It’s tough, But I will make it work.
The Lord will make it happen for me.
All hail the Lord.
