Hey everyone! So today, I share with you all some cool things that are happening and quite frankly some really cool problems that I’m encountering.
Yes you heard it right, they are cool problems that I need to fix and resolve and decide on and quick too so that I can capitalize on the current stats.
Let’s get into it.
My blog is blowing up.
So right now, it is the 18th of October and I currently have around 1,500 views for the month. Closer to 1,600.
And quite frankly it’s really good because that’s strong progress from what I was getting before.
And now I’m facing a couple of situations with this new found “fame”
For one I need to decide what I’m going to promote on my blog.
I already have a few things that I can promote but the thing is that I can choose one of 2 routes now.
I can either be a working indie musician that works on side projects like video editing and production for businesses.
Or i can go the strict musician side of promoting things and just promote my music related products and services.
I have a really strong feeling that I’m going to end the month with a minimum of 2,000 views possible more.
So it’s good progress. But anyways back to what I need to do.
I can promote my music entirely but that would mean that I wouldn’t get paid until much later.
And when I say I wouldn’t get paid until much later, I mean like possibly months or years later until my music starts selling massive amounts of single and albums.
I just know that I can get good amounts of streams if I were to promote on my blog.
The reason why I don’t want to do that is because who wants to wait another couple years for massive amounts of money.
I mean I really need the money right now to do stuff.
Which is why I want to promote my video editing and video production services on my blog.
If I were to promote my video production services, I would see a return faster.
HOWEVER, if I were to promote my music on my blog, it would actually help the Spotify algorithm to notice me and therefore show my music to more and more people.
Therefore, I wouldn’t need to wait until my blog pulls millions of streams per month, I just need enough to get the Spotify algorithm not notice me and share me on Spotify. And if I were to do that, then I can charge more for music lessons.
If i were to get millions of streams per month to my Spotify, I could charge premium music lesson rates such as 200 or 500 dollars per hour.
Plus I would have this blog that acts as social proof to my ability to promote music, indie musicians would be looking at me to help them improve their marketability.
So that’s where I’m at right now,
If I were to promote my music entirely, I would get more streams to Spotify, but I wouldn’t get massively paid until much later, but if I were to promote my video production things, I would get paid faster but it won’t be nearly as much if I were to wait for my music streams to hit.
So this is the dilemma that I’m at right now.
It’s difficult, but that is the result of working hard for 6 years at this blog.
Finally after 6 long years of working hard at my blog and spending countless hours creating blog posts and averaging nothing per day, the Lord has blessed me.
